The existing metering rollers are replaced in a coater with a single engraved Anilox Roller which is saturated with lacquer from an enclosed lacquer chamber. The lacquer chamber incorporates two scraper blades that can clean the surface of the roller leaving only a predetermined amount of lacquer in the rollers engraved cells. This lacquer is then transferred from the Anilox Roller onto the composition roller which then applies the lacquer to substrate.
